Standing together for Justice and Restoration

Standing together for Justice and RestorationJean Steffenson
In the early 90’s I was leading a prayer movement in Colorado and the Lord revealed to me His heart for Native Americans. He said we were not going forward until we went back and brought the Native Americans in. He instructed me to begin with the ministry of reconciliation between the First People of this land and other Americans. He said that reconciliation was the beginning, then there needed to be resourcing unto restoration. After a few years I was told to change the name of the ministry from Reconciliation Coalition to Native American Resource Network. We at NARN have been developing relationships and praying for this resourcing for over 30 years. We see the great need the Native Americans have for resources to do what the Lord has called them to do. We help what we can but it is not enough. I know many across America and other nations have been praying as well but we still need a breakthrough in Indian country.
I am delighted the International Prayer Council has called a 40 day prayer and fasting time that includes prayers for resourcing Native Americans. It begins May 25th ends July 3rd. Native Americans are people of prayer, we need to join them and encourage you to join IPC with its 100 M plus around the world, to ignite the fires of awakening, revival, restoration and justice that is long overdue.
Billy Graham talking about Native Americans said, “Remember these forgotten people.” For centuries the American Church has sent billions of dollars to other nations around the world to help the poor and rebuild their communities and nation but has largely neglected the Native Americans. They are still struggling with systemic poverty with the highest rates of unemployment. Native Americans are the most federally regulated people in this nation with centuries of oppression and injustices. It is time for them to be free and justice to prevail.
God’s Heart for Restoration – Prayer Guide
This guide from Wesley Tullis and Jason Hubbard of IPC was born out of deep covenant friendship with First Nations leaders including Ivan and Linda Doxtator, whose book Justice and Judgment forms the devotional’s foundation. It asks the searching question Ivan opens with: Why are our prayers for national transformation not being answered? The answer may surprise you — and transform you.
Each of the 40 days includes a rich devotional reflection rooted in Scripture, personal prayer, extended prayer points, and focused intercession for First Nations peoples across North America.
We are asking you to do four things:Pray through this guide personally, starting May 25th.Consider fasting together with your prayer as the Lord leads you.Share it with your church, network, and contacts across North America.Visit www.ipcprayer.org/usa250 to register your participation and let us know you are praying — your commitment matters and will be counted.
Let justice run down like water, and righteousness like a mighty stream (Amos 5:24). This is our moment.
